W Las Vegas
W Las Vegas occupies its own tower within the Mandalay Bay complex at the south end of the Strip, offering 1,117 rooms that lean into a sharp, contemporary aesthetic without sacrificing comfort. Several room categories - including the W Escape Strip View King Suite and W Corner King Suite - frame the Las Vegas skyline across large windows, making the city itself part of the room. The layout gives guests a self-contained hotel experience alongside the broader resources of one of the Strip's most sprawling resort campuses.
The property's social energy runs through its food and drink outlets. Franklin Lounge functions as both a bar and a gathering point, while 3940 Coffee and Tea handles the quieter, slower starts to the morning. Skyfall Panoramic Bar and Lounge sits above it all, trading in elevated views over the city. For guests who want to push further, the dining and nightlife options inside Mandalay Bay are a short walk away.
Beyond the rooms and the bars, BATHHOUSE Spa anchors the wellness side of the stay with a co-ed setup that includes therapeutic plunge pools, steam rooms and saunas. The fitness center rounds out what's available on the W side of the complex, before guests even factor in the considerably larger infrastructure next door.
W Las Vegas sits at 3940 S Las Vegas Blvd, at the southern end of the Strip where the boulevard curves toward the airport. The Mandalay Bay complex it shares a campus with spans roughly 120 acres, meaning the distance between the W entrance and, say, the Michelob ULTRA Arena or the House of Blues is a walk measured in minutes but not steps. Guests heading north toward the center of the Strip typically walk or use ride-share, as the southern stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard is longer between properties than it appears from above. Arriving by car, the shared garage is substantial, and parking credentials allow movement across MGM Resorts properties within the same day.
The pool situation at W Las Vegas is genuinely split in two directions. WET Deck is the hotel's own pool space, smaller and more controlled in atmosphere. Then there is the Mandalay Bay beach environment, which runs to three pools, a lazy river, a wave pool with actual sand, and two beach clubs - Moorea Beach Club and Daylight Beach Club - one of which operates as a topless pool. Both setups are available to W guests.
For gambling, the casino floor is at Mandalay Bay, and the 300-seat race and sports book there comes fitted with big-screen televisions and individual race monitors at every seat. Live music and larger events happen at House of Blues and Michelob ULTRA Arena, both within the complex. The Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay offers something off the typical casino-resort script.
The scale of the Mandalay Bay campus is the thing that catches first-time W guests off guard. Checking in at the W and then deciding to visit the Shark Reef Aquarium or the sports book involves a real walk through connected corridors - not difficult, but longer than the site map suggests. The complex rewards guests who are comfortable navigating large interiors; for those who prefer to know where everything is within the first hour, it's worth spending a few minutes getting oriented on arrival.
Early evenings tend to push guests toward Skyfall Panoramic Bar and Lounge for the city views, so the space fills up as the sun drops. Franklin Lounge runs at a different tempo - more suited to a drink before dinner than the full-on nightlife crowd.
