Bellagio
Bellagio is the property against which a lot of Strip hotels measure themselves - a 3,421-room tower anchored by a lake-front fountain show that draws crowds day and night without charging a cent. The Italian design language is everywhere, from the hand-blown Fiori di Como glass sculpture by Dale Chihuly suspended above the main lobby to the Conservatory just off it, where a team of more than 100 horticulturalists rotate elaborate flower and plant installations five times a year. It sets the tone for a property that genuinely invests in what guests see before they even reach their floor.
The dining lineup is one of the deepest on the Strip. Carbone Riviera brings the Italian-American red-sauce institution to the lakeside. Michael Mina handles serious seafood. Jasmine covers Cantonese in an elegant room, while LAGO puts Italian food on a terrace directly above the fountains. Yellowtail and Prime Steakhouse share similar outdoor positions with fountain sightlines. The Mayfair Supper Club adds a performance layer to dinner - singers and dancers work the room through the evening, making it something closer to a show than a meal. For counterbalance, Sadelle's and Harvest keep things approachable, and the Bellagio Patisserie handles pastry and coffee.
Entertainment goes beyond the fountains and the restaurants. O by Cirque du Soleil has run in the property's purpose-built aquatic theatre for years and remains one of the most technically ambitious productions in the city. The Pinky Ring by Bruno Mars operates as a dedicated nightlife venue. Petrossian Bar anchors a quieter corner for those who want conversation over cocktails. The five-pool complex, a full-service spa and salon under the Bellagio Spa & Salon name, and Via Bellagio - an interior avenue of luxury retail - round out a property that functions more like a self-contained district than a single hotel.
Bellagio sits on the west side of Las Vegas Boulevard at a central point of the Strip, with the lake creating a generous buffer between the entrance and the pavement. That buffer means the walk from the front doors to the sidewalk is longer than it looks from the street - figure on a couple of minutes just to reach the Boulevard. The upside is that you're walking alongside the fountains the whole way.
A free tram connects the Bellagio Spa Tower - accessed from a hallway just past Harvest - to ARIA, Vdara, Park MGM, and The Shops at Crystals, running every few minutes for most of the day and well into the early morning. That link makes a significant stretch of the mid-Strip genuinely walkable without touching Las Vegas Boulevard at all.
The 3,421 rooms and 512 suites span several categories, from the entry-level Premier King up through fountain-facing Spa Premier rooms, the Salone Suite, and full Two Bedroom Penthouse Suites. Rooms with a fountain view are a real decision point here - LAGO, Yellowtail, and Prime Steakhouse all have outdoor positions above the water, and a matching room view turns every performance into something private.
The casino runs around the clock and covers the full range: blackjack, craps, baccarat, roulette, Pai Gow poker, Let It Ride, keno, slots, and Megabucks. A dedicated 24-hour poker room with high-limit areas draws serious players. The race and sports book is equipped with both large shared screens and individual monitors.
The lobby at Bellagio is a genuine crossroads. Hotel guests checking in share the space with visitors heading to the Conservatory, people arriving from the parking garage, and guests coming down from the Spa Tower elevators - and the lobby itself is more compact than the property's scale suggests. Chihuly's Fiori di Como sculpture draws heads upward constantly, which means foot traffic moves unpredictably. Patience and awareness of your surroundings pay off here, especially with luggage in tow.
Fountain view rooms face the lake directly, but the show runs on a schedule rather than continuously, so the quiet periods between performances are part of the rhythm. Guests on higher floors get a broader sightline across the water.
