Downtown Cocktail Room

The first trick to the Downtown Cocktail Room is finding the front door. We won’t spoil the surprise, but we also can’t promise we won’t be just inside the one-way glass laughing at the people who look puzzled.   Once you find your way inside the Downtown Cocktail Room, you'll find a sexy vibe with dim lighting, soft candlelight, splashes of red and sheer curtains separating the tables. There are a few bar-height tables, but if you want to relax, take a seat in one of the plush armchairs and listen to the DJ-spun music. And toward the back, there's a private room with funky red booths and tables. The back room is a perfect place for larger parties or private events.  As the bar's name suggests, cocktails are the reason you come here. The mixologists here are always coming up with new drinks and seasonal cocktails made with fresh juices, herbs and all sorts of interesting stuff. You might find concoctions like the Smoke and Mirrors, made with Scotch, sage and pine or the Daam, Whiteboy with tequila, tamarind, jicama and lemon.  If you're not that brave you'll also find classics like the Side Car or a Dark & Stormy as well as all the usual beers. And if you're really, really brave, Downtown Cocktail Room is one of the few places in town you can find absinthe, served in three styles of preparation.
